New Product! FBPS 600i Safety Positioning System

Leuze has introduced the first ever safety bar code positioning system: the FBPS 600i series. This new sensor is ideal for position detection in applications involving fast movements (such as stacker cranes) and has an error reaction time of just ten milliseconds, allowing optimization of speed curves and handling performance; the new system also requires just one sensor for safe position detection and meets the requirements for PL e / SIL 3. The FBPS 600i sensors are securely mounted to a clamp bracket using an easily accessible screw, which reduces installation time and allows the devices to be changed quickly if servicing is required. The FBPS 600i sensor is connected to a safe evaluation unit, such as a frequency inverter, via two SSI interfaces, and can be easily integrated into existing systems thanks to a wide working range of 50 to 170 millimeters. The FBPS 600i sensor uses specialized self-adhesive, UV resistant, and highly durable bar code tape; each scanning operation reads several codes from which the software determines highly precise position values. A diagonal scanning beam reads each bar code at different points to prevent reading errors caused by soiling or damage.
